ZVISHAVANE- Upcoming Zvishavane based artist, Rosemary Zhou who is popularly known as Maroza has taken the music industry by storm with her debut single released last month.

The single track titled ‘Gemenzi reGucci’ is promising to be a force to reckon with, both locally and regionally, as it is  being played on several radio stations in Zimbabwe.

Maroza who named her single track ‘Gemenzi reGucci’ poured her heart out on her passion for music, seeing how artists are looked down upon. In this track she encourages people to dress smart and classic despite their profession, denominations or background.

“This single encourages people to be smartly dressed all the time because appearance matters most of the time. In this track I chose the title Gemenzi reGucci because in Zimbabwe members of the Apostolic sect are looked down upon because of the robes that they wear and I was imagining myself being part of that group but wearing a classic robe with a Gucci label. Everyone will appreciate me because of that,”says Maroza.

She also expressed dislike for youths who concentrate on politics instead of creating employment for themselves.

She added that she spends much of her time listening to music from various local, national and international artists so as to work on some music skills .

Maroza was born in 1997 in Zvishavane and did her primary education at Makwasha Primary School before moving on to Mandava High School for her secondary education.

She started her music journey in 2017 with a single track titled ‘Kwawasaki’ which she performed live at the movement riddim launch in November 2018. She also made another hit song called ‘Celebrity Wife’ in 2018.She was privileged to exchange microphones with with King Shady, Ninja Lipsy, Guspy Warrior, Killer T and other artists who recorded on the movement riddim.
