BREAKING: Kwekwe nurse with Portugal travelling history tests negative for Coronavirus



A Kwekwe General Hospital Nurse and her son have tested negative for the novel Corona virus (COVID-19, Ministry of Health and Child Care (MoHCC), Kwekwe District Environmental and Health Officer, Vitalis Kwashira, announced on Wednesday.

The nurse recently arrived from Portugal and was placed in self-quarantine after she had reportedly showed signs and symptoms of the contagious disease.

“The Ministry would like advise the Nation that we just recieved the results of the two samples for COVID-19 we had sent to Harare for testing, results have come out negative,” said Kwashira.

Kwashira revealed that, despite showing no signs of the catastrophic Covid-19, the son had his samples taken for tests since he had been in contact with his mother.

Kwekwe is yet to report a coronavirus case, but has dealt with two suspected cases which came out negative.
