Gokwe woman stabs hubby’s girlfriend to death

© In sad case of crimes of passion a Gokwe South woman was hacked to death by a rival suitor, 17 June 2020.

The woman Lucia Kamutondori (52) from Chief Njelele area was stabbed to death by Chipo Mpala (39) from the same village for inquiring about her husband.

Kamutondori’s husband is said to have been in an adulterous affair with the Mpala.

According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police Midlands province spokesperson Inspector Joel Goko the deceased went to Mpala’s homestead looking for her husband and found him seated inside the bedroom hut while her rival suitor at the door step of the hut.

It is alleged that the two women then exchanged harsh words leading to a fight which the husband tried to restrain but failed.

Mpala is alleged to have gone into her bedroom hut where she withdrew a sickle which she used to stab Mutoriro twice on her head and once on the left leg.

The husband then managed to restrain Mpala from further assaulting Kamutondori and tried to render first aid by pouring cold water over her head that had been stabbed, but it was too late.

Kamutondori later died on the spot.

ZRP Gokwe Police details found the deceased lying facing upwards and recovered the weapons that were used during the fatal assault.

Mpala then handed herself to the police after the gruesome murder.

She is detained at Zimbabwe Republic Police Gokwe Police station awaiting prosecution.

Meanwhile government spokesperson Nick Mangwana said there are reports that the machete gang had resumed, he confirmed that Zimbabwe Republic Police had recorded 3 robberies in Shurugwi.

In one case at Selukwe peak farm, Solomon Nyamandi 25 was attacked and left for dead.

“The machete gang has resumed operations with 3 robberies in Shurugwi – Selukwe peak farm, one of the victim is Solomon Nyamandi, born in 1995 – they paid him a visit a day before yesterday around 2100hrs, and left him in a bloody state” Mangwana wrote on his Twitter timeline
