A Zimbabwe United Passenger Company (ZUPCO) bus engulfed in flames in the Midlands capital Gweru on Sunday.
The incident happened opposite DSTimber pick-up and drop-off point.
No one was injured as the bus crew and passengers got off the bus before the fire spread.
Police confirmed the incident although saying details on the cause of the fire were still unknown.
“We are yet to establish the cause of how and why the bus went up in flames though we have received a report,” Midlands police provincial spokesperson Joel Goko said.
Zupco buses are still the only mode of public transport allowed to ferry passengers while private players and smaller taxis remain banned, a situation that has seen some passengers stranded with no transport to and from work.
The country is currently on level 2 of the national lockdown which permits some formal businesses to resume operations.
