Midlands province Covid-19 cases spike



Midlands province has recorded a daily total of  11 new  Covid 19 cases which is a record number since the first case was diagnosed in the province on 20 May 2020.

Total cumulative number of confirmed Covid 19 cases in the province is now 54, 4 recoveries, one death and 49 active cases.

The cases recorded today were amongst the returnees from South Africa.

The Ministry of Health and Child Care (MOHCC) confirmed that all new cases have been isolated.

Nationally 21 cases were recorded amongst the returnees from South Africa 18, Botswana 2 and one case from Mozambique (25June).

To date national cumulative total of the tests carried stands at 65 111.

36423 tests were done on rapid diagnostics tests (RDT) and 28688 were done  through  the (PCR)polymerase chain reaction tests.

As of today there are 551 known infections in Zimbabwe.

To date six people have died of Covid-19 in the country, 417 cases are active,128 people have so far recovered from the coronavirus in Zimbabwe.

Today (25 June) 5 recoveries were recorded, Masvingo province recorded 2 Covid-19 recoveries and 3 recoveries were recorded in Matebeland North province

The coronavirus is affecting 214 other countries around the world including one international conveyance (the Diamond Princess cruise ship harbored in Yokohama, Japan).
