FC Platinum coach Hendrik Pieter de Jongh can’t wait for the start of the 2020 football, buoyed by his success in the past 11 months stay in Zimbabwe.
The Dutch mentor took to the Twitter his enthusiasm for the new football season.
His stay in the Zimbabwean top flight football league has been a rosy affair.
“In 11 months in Zimbabwe as a professional coach, I won two cups titles with two clubs and only lost one game! I can’t wait to be on the pitch again” he said.
de Jongh’s Zvishavane-based side already has one trophy in its cabinet, the Castle Challenge Cup, they beat Highlanders 2-0 in what was meant to be the 2020 Premiership season opener in March before the Covid-19 pandemic forced a halt of gatherings and all sporting activities.
The Dutch mentor also won 2019 Chibuku super cup when they beat Ngezi Platinum FC 1-0 at BarbourFields stadium.
Prince Dube scored the solitary goal.
Hendrik Pieter de Jongh is the 10th coach to join FC Platinum.
This development means the champions, who have been in top flight football for ten years, have had an average of one coach every season since they were promoted in 2011.
