FC Platinum assistant coach Lizwe Sweswe has parted ways with the team on mutual consent.

Sweswe arrived at the Zvishavane based side in 2017 from now defunct Tsholotsho FC.

He assumed the role of assistant coach to Norman Mapeza.

His four year stint with the team has been a success, he helped the team clinch 3 successive premier league titles.

In 2019 Sweswe was thrown into the deep end, taking over reigns when head coach Mapeza left the team to join South African Premier league side Chippa United.

Under his stewardship FC Platinum went on to defend their title.

Announcing Sweswe’s departure FC Platinum president Fabian Mashingaidze said Sweswe’s contribution to the team will forever be remembered adding that he will be missed.

“Lizwe has been with the team for the past four years and the club would like to thank him for his professionalism, dedication and commitment to the achievement of the club objectives”,

“He has been an integral part of our technical team and the year 2019 will remain a memorable one as he led us to yet another championship and together with his team took us to the Champions League group stages”

” The club Presidium, fans, executive management, entire technical team and playing staff wish him well in his future endeavors” he said.

Sweswe’s departure puts paid the word on reported bad blood between him and head coach Pieter de Jongh.

The two were reportedly enduring frosty relationship.
