Kwekwe gold dealer Mark Burden in court for assaulting wife

A Son to gold Kwekwe gold mining dealer Mark Burden who also goes by the name Mark (35) has been dragged to court for assaulting his wife.

Burden cited disrespect and suspected infidelity before the Kwekwe Magistrate Courts as reasons for assaulting his wife Sandra Mupuka (31).

Mark Burden Jnr. is said to have physically abused his wife Sandra on three different occasions in which on one of the occasions he assaulted her and pulled off her braids.

Mark Burden Jnr told the court he assaulted his wife as he thought she was having an extra marital affair.

He said that he assaulted his wife because she was behaving rudely to him and that he thought she was having extra marital affairs.

“I thought that she was having extra marital affairs because she was not answering my calls and she was behaving rudely with me,” he said.

The presiding magistrate slapped Burden with a ZW$4500 fine.

Burden, who attended Camelot School in Kwekwe and runs Iavan Gold Mine just outside Kwekwe, assured the court he would not assault his wife again.
