Zimbabwe’s CAF representatives and defending football champions FC Platinum has dispatched Costa do Sol of Mozambique in a Caf Champions League preliminary round second-leg tie at the National Sports Stadium this afternoon.
The Pure Platinum Play side won the match by 2-0, courtesy of a William Stima well struck free kick and a Perfect Chikwende strike.
Zvishavane based side won 4:1 on aggregate.
FC Platinum will face Tanzania’s Simba FC in the 2nd preliminary round of the CAF Champions League. Simba beat Nigeria’s Plateau United 1:0 on aggregate.
The Platinum miners went into the game carrying a 2-1 lead from the first leg that was played at Zimpeto Stadium in Maputo last Saturday.
Ralph Kawondera and Elias Magura were on target to give Pure Platinum Play the much-needed advantage heading to the second leg encounter.
