Just In: Seven men face murder charges after Munyati bar brawl ends with victim stabbed to death



A 30 year old man identified as David Tembo of Trafalgar 63 Mine in Kadoma was Monday stabbed to death by seven unknown men after being accused of showing off during a beer buying spree at Dollar Bar in Munyati area some 25km north of Kwekwe town, midlandsnews can report.

Police in Midlands confirmed the incident with Provincial Spokesperson, Inspector Emmanuel Mahoko saying that full investigations into the circumstances that led to the death of Tembo have since commenced.

“It is confirmed that Police in Kwekwe are investigating a murder case. A 30 year old man died after being stabbed with a knife by seven unknown other men. This occurred on 13 September 2021 at Dollar Bar, Munyati in Kwekwe”, said Mahoko.

Circumstances are that the now deceased David Tembo of Trafalgar 63 Mine, Kadoma arrived at Dollar Bar in the company of his three friends intending to buy beer.

It is being alleged that Tembo and his friends found the bar closed with seven unknown men seated outside. One of the men awakened the bar lady who was asleep who then sold beer to Tembo and his friends.

Police reports that the seven suspects allegedly confronted Tembo and his friends accusing them of showing off and a misunderstanding arose.

Further allegations are that the seven accused withdrew knives and one of the suspects stabbed Tembo on the thigh.

Police alleged that Tembo bled profusely until he became unconscious and died in his car they were using.

” The matter was reported to the police and investigations are midway. Body is being held at Kwekwe Hospital Mortuary awaiting post-mortem.

“We are appealing to members of the public who might have information about the assailants to inform police in Kwekwe or any nearest station”, added Mahoko
